Character Creation Guide

If you are like myself, you may find it hard to figure out where to begin when creating your own character for any online RP. This guide is here to outline some of the basic steps, and what we at Elluis are looking for in terms of word counts and style. Without further ado, let's get straight into it!
basics:
Okay, so the first things you want to include in a character profile are;
o Name
o Age
o Gender
It may seem a little insulting because they are straightforward, but some people forget their gender or age. Other little bits of info which can be considered as basics are;
o Sexuality
o Hometown
o Ethnicity
These are mostly not needed in RPs, however they are all necessary in their own rights to making a good character. It is good to know what ethnicity and sexuality a character is, especially if you plan on creating plots with other characters, as they need to know as much about you as they possibly can!
getting detailed:
The next part of creating a character at Elluis is to get into the most important parts: the details. These mostly have a minimum word/character count on a majority of RP forums, so you will need to get used to meeting a quota, some of which will be asking for more work than we do. (We are quite lax in terms of word counts.) Here is what we need here;
o Appearance; 100 words minimum
o Personality; 100 words minimum
o History; 200 words minimum
You will find these on nearly every RP site you visit. These sections will create the foundations of your character and how they perform every action in the Elluis Region, so it is important to create a character with a believable background. We don't want to see a bunch of Barbie and Ken dolls, where everything about their appearance and background is picture perfect. Even those with very good upbringings tend to have a small chip in their history. Be creative - there is no limit to what your character can wear or act like. Just make sure it is something which you feel comfortable typing/acting, as it is your responsibility to be that character at the end of the day.
conclusion:
You may be surprised to hear that this is the end of the guide! You can see that there really isn't much to it, but there is still a lot of room expansion. As long as these points are covered well, you will be able to participate in the RP in no time at all! Feel free to add images of your character too, as it really helps with the visualization of that individual.
Also, here is a sample of the coding you can use to spread your character application out neatly.
